Made with acrylic ink and Faber Castell markers on scratchboard and bristol

This piece is a self portrait. I wanted to create a different side of myself that was more surreal and colorful than my normal personality. In this concentration of work, I wanted to emulate the style of Minjae Lee, a South Korean artist who paints ink portraits of women in a geometric, surrealistic style. His works and their bold qualities have greatly influenced my art style today.
Using scratchboard, I also wanted to create a 3-dimensional element that symbolizes an X-ray, contrasting the bright colors with something simplistic and raw. I wanted to portray the numerous sides of myself, all fit into "two bodies, and one soul". The meaning of this portrait was to show no person is only one quality, but we have multiple dimensions and layers.
