Above shows different views and angles of the final "thought cloud" product for our studio space
The cardboard project was assigned to decorate our studio space in a creative and effective way that reflected each designer's personal work spaces. My group of four designers wanted everyone to have their own personal space, with backs to each other or the walls, rather than out in the open. Valuing privacy and space, as well as a comfortable atmosphere was an ideal quality we needed in order to work. We also wanted light to filter in as well, so we wanted to incorporate a "canopy" shape to our cardboard structure.
We all preferred modules that had a variety of sizes and forms, so we wanted the cardboard structure to gradate from "orderly" to "chaotic". We used to same cardboard shape, but made them in small, medium, and large triangular modules that stacked upon one another to create "flower" forms, or fall into a more chaotic pattern. Two of the group members liked to be very orderly and clean cut, whereas the other two enjoyed more organic forms, so we settled on using triangular, geometric forms to create an overall organic shape. The final product was very successful in that we managed to make a canopy resembling the tops of a tree that draped along the wall, but also a structure that metaphorically symbolizes a "cloud" floating above us similar to a "thought bubble", which is representative of the studio space where we brainstorm and innovate.  We wanted to structure to be free floating because adding pillars to support it would have obstructed our view of the "outside" and limited our desk spaces. As pictured, we also used some of the modules as storage space for our supplies by stapling them to the walls to work as shelves. As a finishing touch to make our structure more cozy and give a friendly atmosphere, we added the number "03" to represent our group number.

This project has greatly helped my growth as a designer improving my collaborative skills and communication skills. Prioritizing and compromising on qualities important to the project were crucial lessons I learned in order to help create a product that satisfied everyone. The project was also incredibly fun and interactive, filled with experimentation and teamwork that I will definitely become more familiar with in the near future!
Also, a big shoutout to my amazing team for being easy to work with, communicative, and incredibly talented.
